Created by Marshall 13 years ago
Ann Louise (Sauer) Roe, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, died April 17, 2011 at age 92. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Marshall Collen Roe in 2004 and two brothers, Harry and Fred Sauer, Jr. Mom's mother Maude (Hanneman) Sauer was from Columbiaville, Michigan. Her father, Fred Sauer, immigrated from Germany to the United States at the age of 16 from Germany and became a successful business man. She graduated from high school in Detroit, where she was Valedictorian of her graduating class. She was named after two adoring aunts and when growing up was always called Anna-Louise. From an early age she demonstrated a love for animals - especially horses and puppies, which was passed on to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. After rearing three children in Franklin, Michigan, she and dad turned their attention to travel, spending winters in Arizona and Hawaii, and summers at the lake near Gaylord and then Grayling, Michigan. She also loved to bake, collect antiques and was an avid reader of novels by contemporary authors. Her most passionate trait was organization and home decorating. Everything in her home reflected a focus on detail and a flare for color coordination. Mom recently moved from Sun City Center, Florida to Waterford, Michigan to be closer to her children. Her children are Deborah Ann Roe, of Ortonville, Michigan, Roger Douglas Roe, of Howell, Michigan, and Marshall Collen Roe, Jr. of Grayling, Michigan. Mrs. Roe has nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Joining dad, her beloved husband of over sixty years, she will be laid to eternal rest at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling, Michigan.
